Community Consultation Community
Consultation using Participatory Appraisal Techniques is a process whereby
local partners engage the community in non- directive decision-making
and action planning.
Six
days initial workshop based training during which researchers are trained
in concepts of participatory appraisal methods, facilitation skills and
project management. Two days a month (for four months) support and training in planning, monitoring, analysis, verification and prioritisation. One day report planning. The team learn through 'doing' using the same participatory tools and methods that are used to consult with the community…the programme builds on earlier learning and is guided by the information coming from the community. The project encompasses team building, confidence development and project management skills.
